Redesign concept art for Roach cause I wasn't quite happy with his previous design. Did you know of my current roster of twinks not a single one had an emo bang? Well now Roach does. I wasn't quite set on if I wanted him to have one since I wondered if it would get in the way of any potential eye gore stuff but i can just move his bang aside. Another thing I wasn't set on was his surname I wasn't sure if I liked Mustonen so I changed it as well and I like the sound of this one a lot more.

Originally I tried to start with a headshot but got frustrated and switched to doing the fullbody drawings, smarter to do first anyways. Even though I did them quickly just to figure out his overall look I feel I could've done those full body drawings better but it's whatever. I did his old design just to see it and then the jacket version and also a version with some kind of sweater instead idk but definitely felt the jacket fit best. The tanktop wasn't bad and he might have one on underneath but I don't know I wanna draw cool fashion and stuff and the jacket looked cooler. I don't know if the jacket is leather, I do like leather and want more of it in my art and I do think the world needs more leather. I'll definitely need to do a second concept art to figure out details like what boots he's wearing, chains and accessories, his stitching and scars, etc.

After the full body I did more hair figuring out I still wasn't set on the emo bang yet for him and I wanted to incorporate two little strands sticking up to resemble roach antenna and so created a couple options. I asked my friends Donnie and Ian for their thoughts and Donnie said she liked 2C and Ian was too busy playing a game. So I just went with 2C and I do think it's the best option now, though 2A is also cute even if you can definitely tell I was an Osomatsu-san fan at some point.

After that I attempted again to draw a headshot and struggled a bunch and gave up and drew the stickman headshot and the more simplified one next to it. Then I once /again/ attempted the headshot and struggled for a long time until what you see got drawn. Looking at it now it's actually pretty nice but god I was just like "fucking whatever" at that point, I started wondering if the head practice I'm doing is even helping at all. It probably is to some degree and later in my practice list I was gonna do stylized head practice, focus on specific parts especially the mouth, and expression practice which is definitely gonna be helpful, so my current studies I've done are good for laying that foundation. I could definitely stand to get more drawing in though and like style study.

Also speaking of study you might notice I didn't upload any study art with this. I've been doing a lot of study this past year and so far this year I hadn't drawn any sort of play art besides drawing on top of my friends fursonas to turn him emo, which is other people's art I just drew over, and like the sketches I did the other day I can't show off yet. So I was like "you know what no study i just wanna draw something I've been wanting to draw. my breadth of work is only the stuff i actually make" and drew Roach. All work and no play make Ghast a dull boy. This is also why I'm making a gallery page for this even though I didn't do so for say the Jarek concept art I did, because at the time i drew that I still had all my objectober art. But seeing my gallery have nothing but study art for a bit got me upset so here's Roach to break it all up no one's gonna think me the guy who draws emo twink gore if I'm not even drawing emo twinks at the moment. Hopefully I can draw some more play art that I can post.
