Head Drawing Practice

More head practice, this time I drew the person following the Asaro method without the model for reference and then after I'd position the Asaro model the direction and trace over the person's head following it to compare how I did. The first one is definitely a bit of a mess I didn't even get the angle of the face right. Second is better but I definitely didn't do well on the mouth so for the next two I tried to pay attention to the mouth more, I don't really plan on having lips in my artstyle maybe for some characters but overall they won't be prominent but it's still important to learn how to draw them when studying the mouth. Whenever I do more in depth studies on the head I'll make sure to do especial study on mouths because a lot of things I want to draw involve the mouth like kissing, vomititing, blow jobs, eating, etc. and it's what moves the lower jaw in expressions.
The last two I feel like didn't come out that well? To be honest though after the second one my brain hit the "bored as fuck" switch so I may have slacked on them a bit. Honestly though the last one gave me difficulty I think because her brow ridge doesnt stick out as much and it kind of threw me off. For the third one I did think I had drawn the face too short and then when I put the tracing over top was surprised to find out the eye to chin was actually perfectly fine lol, the actual head itself of course is still a struggle. I should collect some pictures of bald people to study until I can get general size of the head right. I've got a few more of these cursory head practices planned for the next few days and then I'll maybe try to do some cursory expression practice afterwards.
Also if you read before my plan is 60 gestures, 1-2 hours of study, and then 3 hours of personal drawing, I'm choosing to forgo the personal drawing for a bit because right now I'm also trying to work on learning javascript so I'm gonna doing that for the rest of the day. Maybe tomorrow I'll do some personal drawing who knows we'll see.
