About

A lust filled man who craves men and sweets, as such they tend to be all that's on his mind. He annoys people with the stupid grins and smug horny looks he constantly has on his face and his ditzy personality, nevermind the way he so openly discusses his sexual desires to gnaw on the men he's attracted to. When he's not being horny he's actually a rather quiet and thoughtful man with hints of melancholy. It's unknown how much of his human life Kalvaasia remembers but even if he remembers all of it I doubt he would be willing to share that.

Background

"He died for your sins" a phrase that the adults in his life reminded him of at seemingly every turn. A phrase that weighed heavily on Eljas Takala. Religion seemed to permeate every aspect of his life at that age as his family didn't want him to associate with those that weren't catholic, a religion not very popular in the region. As a child the thoughts of eternity in hellfire loomed on his mind and no amount of time in the confessional seemed to relieve him of his sinful nature. As he aged he followed the expectations placed on him and devoted himself to religion, he became a model catholic and was seen as an upstanding and kind young man, unbeknownst the way in which all his prayers were made in distress. Especially as he noticed the way his gaze lingered on other men, the way in which his thoughts drifted to intimacy with them, and the way in which whenever the topic of sodomites came up he felt they were discussing himself.

In his adulthood Eljas became a priest and his family all congragulated him, proud of who they thought he was, not realizing the way in which it was a performance for himself. He spent many years as a priest and it never seemed to sway the way he felt doomed to be a sinner forever. One day, a stranger from another country showed up to the church, a man who had just moved to town and began to volunteer there. As the stranger socialized with the church and became close to all within it Eljas couldn't help but also be charmed by the man and found himself frequently engaged in conversation with the man as they went about their duties. It was one night however that the realization struck him, after a particularly intimate dream, he had fallen in love with the stranger.

Eljas found himself in the confessional, it was the first time in years, believing it empty he confessed to God to being a sodomite and to his surprise a voice rang back "What's so wrong with that?". It was a stranger, a different one than the one who had come to town, with a honeyed voice the man spoke. He went on about how there's nothing wrong with love between men, after all why should genuine love be punished no matter the genders and what kind of God would set someone up to be doomed a sinner. The line took Eljas aback and the man chuckled and continued, he spoke of Eljas this time and he spoke as if he had been inhabiting his mind this entire time. He spoke of how alienated Eljas was, from his childhood where he was not allowed to associate with anyone outside his parents premission, from how the adults in his life used that religion to shame to have power over him, the way he isolated himself as he entered adolescence because of the shame he felt. He spoke of the way he fearfully devouted himself to studying his religion so as to distract from his sexual desires, and the way in which he was now believing he could never have comraderie with another for fear of love.

As the man expressed his sympathy Eljas felt unnerved as he was laid bare by someone he had never met and yet intrigued by how the man knew him so deeply and that perhaps he knew him so well because he was like him. The man seemed to realize Eljas thoughts and apologized that they were different but before Eljas could feel disappointed the mans voice seeminlgy changed gaining a strange echo and it felt like the world held still. The man had a proposal, Eljas could leave his current life behind, leave behind his guilt and fears of sin, leave behind his isolation, he would no longer be the man he is now, he'd no longer be human at all he'd become an apostle of him but he would be free. Free to no longer hide away in shame, free to connect with others and find companionship, free to love, free to lust. "Take some time to think about it." the man said, "Until then here's a candy, you've never been allowed to have one right? Whenever you have your answer feel free to indulge in this."

Nothing had weighed on Eljas as much since he was a child as the words of that man currently did. Eljas wondered if it had been a dream, yet the candy wrapped and sitting in his pocket remained. He wondered if the man had been honest in his proposal, how had the man known him so well, and, would it really be alright to just leave everything he knew behind? Eljas became much more hesitant particularly towards the stranger, the one he had fallen in love with. One day his loved entered the church with big news to tell as he embraced Eljas, he was getting married. He knew he'd never be with him, he told himself as much, and yet this news really drove the thoughts that lingered in him mad. He was truly going to always be alone. He ate the candy he had recived, it was the sweetest thing he had ever tasted, and before him a strange inhuman figure appeared and introduced himself as Omnes Morimur.

Eljas Takala was never seen again.
